In residential areas you’re advised to engage with neighbouring properties to make them aware of your tree felling plans.

Free Tree Inspections

Arboricultural surveys commonly known as tree inspections are key to detecting and resolving potential hazards arising from a tree or group of trees. The aim of the tree inspection is to identify any problems with the tree which potentially puts the tree, yourself, your property or neighbouring properties at risk. The assessments may include climbing inspections, potential structural defects, physiological problems, pathogens or examination of the root system. We offer guidance with any current or future hazards the tree may possess. An arboricultural survey is very important to record trees that may be at risk of causing harm or damage, in both residential and commercial circumstances. All information is fully referenced and tabulated so that it is easy to follow. The recommended tree surgery or other works will ensure that you can maintain your duty of care as well as help to extend the tree’s life. We must enforce the protection of all nesting animals such as birds, bats, squirrels etc.

Crown-Reduction

Tree crown reduction is the process of removing branch tips, pruning back to a growth point further down the branch. This may be carried out to remove dead, diseased or damaged branches, or simply to reduce the overall size of the tree that's maybe encroaching the property, depriving the building of sunlight or disrupting your desired view. Crown lifting, is the removal of the lower branches on the tree, this is carried out to increase the clearance between the ground level and lower branches either to allow clear access below the tree, to open sight lines, improve views or to allow the sunlight to penetrate the ground. Removing the lower branches can keep them away from traffic, keep them away from buildings, maintain visibility for signs or open up a desirable view.

Pollard Pruning

Pollarding is a pruning system involving the removal of the upper branches on a tree, which promotes the growth of a dense head of foliage and branches. Trimming the trees to control their mature size and shape, creating a uniform ball like canopy. The technique is often used on trees growing in areas where they cannot be allowed to grow to their full size or in many cases for aesthetic pleasure. A simple pruning technique used for many reasons, preventing trees and shrubs outgrowing their allotted space, it can reduce the shade cast by a tree, it also may be necessary on street trees to prevent electric wires and streetlights being obstructed.

Residential or Commercial Tree Felling

Felling is the process of cutting a tree down safely, within residential areas or within commercial forestry grounds. You may require felling a tree if it has outgrown its position in the property or if the tree is of poor health and is causing to great a risk for people or surrounding properties. If the traditional straight fell isn't possible, sectional felling is another way to systematically dismantle the tree safely to eliminate any potential risks. A tree of any size can be dismantled and brought to the ground safely using suitable climbing and rigging techniques.

Stump Grinding or Removal

There are a few ways you can remove a tree stump on your property, including heavy machinery, manual labour or burning. You can also hire a stump grinder and make it even easier for yourself and hire a qualified professional to do the job. Grinding is much more efficient than stump removal, however it does leave the trees root system behind. Depending on the size of the stump, the chip pile produced can be quite significant. The chips can be used as mulch , which is beneficial for a variety of purposes within the garden for other plant species or just to fill the void left behind.
